Signs Your Marriage Is In Trouble

What are the signs that my marriage is in trouble is one of those questions you really hope you never have to ask. Understanding the signs of a marriage in trouble starts with taking stock of the relationship today compared to what it was during the early “in love” stages.

Another glaring signal that your marriage is coming apart is your spouse’s lack of interest in your life. Consider how often your spouse wants to hear about your day. Do they seem genuinely interested in your day? Are you interested in their day also?

Couples can love one another and yet find themselves drifting apart and headed for a divorce. All married couples have annoying habits. If you do not communicate with your spouse about those habits, they will fester and lead to conflict in your mind that leads to conflict between the two of you. When people feel guilt or stress, it leads them to act in funny ways. Often stress and guilt are barriers to communication.

How To Avoid Getting A Divorce

Act Happy. Your spouse fell in love with a happy person whose world lit up every time s/he walked into the room. It’s understandable you’re unhappy that s/he’s pulling away from you, but the more you cling, need, and desperately try to hang on,the more unhappy you are.

Be honest with yourself: Would you want to spend the rest of your life with someone who’s been acting the way you have lately? If you’re happy, carefree, lighthearted, friendly, and fun to be around, s/he will want to be around you more often.

Agree to everything your spouse says. Does your spouse want to empty the bank account and buy a sports car? Say “I agree, it would be fun to buy a flash car. Pretend we are filthy rich , and go for some test drives.

Does your spouse say you don’t do near as much work around the house as you do. I understand how upset that must make your spouse feel at times.

How To Save A Marriage

Remember why you fell in love with that person in the first place. It is often hard to remember that when times are hard, but just thinking about the love you once shared is enough to give the motivation to try and make things like that again.

Communication is a big issue in most relationships, and as time goes on partners tend to talk less and less. But it is key to tell your loved one how much you love them, and to communiate about daily things in life. Remember, half of communication is talking, but the other half, and perhaps the most important, is listening.

Try to find things that you can do together. Remember when you were dating, there were interests that you shared and things you enjoyed doing together, otherwise you wouldn’t have wanted to marry this person, right?

Honor what you have said and you will win back the trust that is essential for open communication.
You have to be the one to lead the relationship into this new ground and new ways of communicating and create the space and trust for your spouse to feel ok with being honest with you.

Four Ways To Re-Ignite the Passion and FIRE in your Marriage

1)    Deeply understand your spouse. Money, children, grandchildren and sex. These are all issues that need to be sincerely understood. Where do you feel you would be most comfortable living?

2)    Show your love in a unique way often. Send your spouse a unique gift often. A massage with a twist. Use your imagination. A unique flower idea may be a single rose with a note saying “Thank you for coming into my life.”

3)    Go on dates. Dedicate time each week or month to doing fun things with your spouse. Never stop dating.

4)    Spark and fuel intimacy. Probably the most profound way to rekindle the romance in your marriage is to spice up your lovemaking. Surprise your spouse with a little gift after you make love, try a new position,  give a massage. Many people underestimate the affect passionate and intimate lovemaking has on a relationship..
